# Privacy policy

Vloser Backup is a private backup utility operated by Chris Fuller for personal
|
|
use. It connects only to a Google account explicitly authorized by its owner.
|
|
|
|
## Data access and use
|
|
|
|
The utility uses Google Drive access to create, read, verify, update, and remove
|
|
objects in an encrypted backup repository. Backup contents and source filenames
|
|
are encrypted locally before upload. Google account data is not sold, shared
|
|
with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train models.
|
|
|
|
OAuth credentials are stored on the owner's self-hosted server and in a private
|
|
recovery copy. They are used only for unattended backup and restore operations.
|
|
|
|
## Retention and deletion
|
|
|
|
Encrypted snapshots are retained according to the owner's backup policy. The
|
|
owner can delete the repository or revoke the application's Google access at
|
|
any time from Google Account security settings.
